ARB Tumbles After Security Council Halts New Contract Activations

Arbitrum's ARB token has continued its one-week slide after an emergency action by the network's Security Council. The token dropped about 12% in the past seven days, despite rising 47% in the last month.

The Arbitrum Foundation reported that the Security Council halted new Stylus contract activations on Arbitrum One and Nova due to increasingly sophisticated attacks. Although no vulnerability has been found that could steal user funds, existing contracts remain live.

The pause applies only to new contracts and apps requiring a new activation to update, targeting hand-built WebAssembly programs that circumvent the normal Stylus toolchain.
