Arbitrum Dives Amid Market Pullback as Traders Lock in Gains
Arbitrum (ARB) experienced a sharp decline of around 11% over the last four hours, amidst a broader altcoin pullback and local profit taking.
The market-wide downturn saw the total crypto market cap fall by about 2.4%, with the altcoin market cap declining by approximately 2.1%. Bitcoin (BTC) dominance increased slightly during this period, indicating a rotation from high-beta altcoins into Bitcoin.
ARB's drop was not due to a specific project-related issue, but rather technical factors such as profit taking and speculative short selling in a weak market session.
The token had recently rallied strongly, climbing over 200% from its mid-August low to a peak around $0.25. This rapid increase made it susceptible to a sharp pullback, with the 3.53 percentage point drop over four hours consistent with traders locking in prior gains.
