Arbitrum Halts New Contract Activations Over Potential Threat
Arbitrum has taken emergency measures to address a potential threat on its network. On October 2, at around 11:30 a.m. ET (15:30 UTC), new Stylus contract activations were paused on both Arbitrum One and Nova. This move aims to mitigate the risk of reduced on-chain activity and denial-of-service attacks, without putting user funds in jeopardy.
The pause affects new Stylus contracts, including application updates that require activation. Existing activated Stylus applications can continue running normally. Solidity contract deployment and execution remain unaffected by this measure.
