Arbitrum Price Surges Amid Token Unlock Schedule
Arbitrum's price has surged by approximately 159% over the past 60 days, reaching around 20 cents as of October 2, 2026. This marks a significant increase since early August. However, each month 92.6 million ARB tokens unlock, adding roughly $19 million in new supply against about $125 million in daily trading volume.
The recent surge can be attributed to key endorsements, including a bold price target of $10 set by Geoff Kendrick, who leads digital assets research at Standard Chartered, for 2030. The market responded positively, pushing ARB up by roughly 70% to 22 cents within four days.
ARB is a governance token, meaning holders have a say in how the treasury funds are spent but do not have a direct claim on generated revenue. The upcoming unlocks will distribute approximately 48.5 million ARB to investors, 32.1 million to the team, and 12 million to the Arbitrum treasury.
While some investors may have taken profits ahead of the October release, sustaining this upward momentum may prove challenging as insiders sell tokens every month. If demand wanes, ARB could potentially drop back to its June low near 7 cents, erasing around 65% of its current value.
