Argentina Cracks Down on Virtual Asset Service Providers
CNV Argentina has introduced new regulations for Proveedores de Servicios de Activos Virtuales (PSAVs), which will come into effect from 2024. The move aims to enhance transparency and security within the crypto sector by establishing a framework for overseeing companies providing virtual asset services.
The regulation requires PSAVs to register with CNV Argentina, addressing concerns surrounding money laundering and terrorist financing. This initiative is significant as it sets clear operational guidelines for these service providers, ensuring they operate within legal boundaries.
CNVC regulates PSAVs to ensure compliance with national regulations and enhance consumer protection. By mandating registration and specific rules, the agency aims to create a safer environment for both users and service providers in the virtual asset market.
