Argentina Mandates Monthly Crypto User Data Reports for Tax Authority
Argentina's tax authority has issued new regulations requiring crypto platforms to submit detailed reports on user data, including virtual asset balances and transaction history. The General Resolution 5804/2025 mandates monthly reports starting May 2026 for digital platforms and payment service providers operating in the country.
The regulation targets major exchanges such as Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Lemon, and Ripio, among others. It requires these platforms to submit user account details, including nationalities, tax IDs, and virtual asset balances, with reporting thresholds set at ARS 50 million for individuals and ARS 30 million for legal entities.
The new rules also integrate anti-money laundering obligations and build on earlier regulations from General Resolution 4614, which has been in place since 2019. Argentina aims to share collected data across borders by implementing the OECD's Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) by 2027.
