ARK Invest Buys $6.8M in Circle Shares After USDC Regulatory Milestone
ARK Invest has added Circle shares to its portfolio, purchasing approximately $6.83 million worth of stock across three exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The investment firm acquired a total of 109,129 shares in Circle Internet Group, the parent company of USDC issuer Circle.
The purchase comes after Circle secured a limited-purpose trust charter from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), allowing it to conduct virtual currency activities and exercise fiduciary powers under New York banking regulations.
Circle plans to gradually transfer its USDC issuance activities to the New York trust entity, while keeping custody services through its federal trust bank.
ARK Invest's purchase of Circle shares is part of a larger trend of institutional exposure to companies building regulated crypto infrastructure. However, the stock remains influenced by broader technology market conditions and investor expectations around stablecoin growth.
