ARKVX Fund Tokenized on Ethereum, Now Available to U.S. Investors

Cathie Wood's ARK Invest has tokenized its ARKVX fund on Ethereum, allowing eligible U.S. investors to buy in with USDC and hold positions in their own wallets.

The ARK Venture Fund, which holds private and publicly traded companies, launched in September 2022 with $1.3 billion in net assets as of June 30, according to Securitize's page. As of August 31, Kalshi made up 5.81% of the fund, second only to SpaceX at 7.54%, while OpenAI accounted for 5.26% and Anthropic 3.86%. The tokenized version carries the same quarterly liquidity as the original fund.

To buy into the ARKVX fund, investors need a verified Securitize account and a wallet approved in advance, and they pay in USDC. A $500 minimum investment is required for the first purchase, with later additions starting at $5. A 2% transaction fee comes off each deposit before it is priced at the fund's end-of-day net asset value.

Cathie Wood said that tokenization has the potential to reshape fundamentally the way that investors access and participate in both private and public financial markets. Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo added that the launch shows asset managers can use tokenization to move established investment products onto modern capital markets infrastructure.
