Armstrong Sees Bitcoin Soaring to New Heights by 2030
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong predicts Bitcoin could reach between $300,000 and $400,000 by 2030, based on its recurring four-year market cycles. He notes that the cryptocurrency has historically recorded major advances around its halving events, followed by significant corrections.
Armstrong expressed a similar view last week, telling Bloomberg he believed Bitcoin's latest downcycle had reached its bottom after spending roughly a year in decline. The CEO bases his outlook on Bitcoin's price action and market cycles, rather than short-term trends or speculation.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin has staged a sharp rebound recently, breaking above $80,000 after falling toward $75,000 earlier in the week. This move was accompanied by heavy liquidations among traders betting on further declines, with more than $500 million in leveraged crypto positions being liquidated over 24 hours.
For Armstrong, Bitcoin is only one part of a larger crypto expansion, which he believes will continue regardless of short-term price fluctuations. He points to stablecoins, perpetual futures, tokenized stocks, and AI-related financial applications as areas that could grow significantly in the coming years.
