Armstrong Sees Regulatory Clarity for Crypto in Sight
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong believes regulatory clarity for crypto is inevitable, whether it comes from a Senate vote or new federal rules. The CLARITY Act, which aims to provide clear guidelines for digital assets, needs 60 votes in the Senate on September 15 to pass. If it fails, CFTC Chairman Mike Selig has a backup plan: new crypto rules by September 16.
Armstrong also made a bold prediction about Bitcoin's price, stating that it could reach $300,000 to $400,000 by 2030 due to growing institutional adoption and improving regulatory clarity. The CLARITY Act has been stalled in the Senate since the summer, but Armstrong remains optimistic that progress will be made soon.
Armstrong has previously pressed lawmakers directly to pass the CLARITY Act, arguing that most Americans support clear crypto rules and voters are tracking how their senators vote. The CFTC and SEC have also been working together on Project Crypto, a joint effort to develop guidelines for digital assets.
