Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong still believes that Bitcoin can reach $400,000 by 2030, calling it a 'reasonable target' despite the current price hovering around $77,000. He cited the four-year cycle of Bitcoin's price movements, noting that the current down period has lasted about a year and is likely nearing its end.

Armstrong pointed to the upcoming Bitcoin halving in 18 months as a potential catalyst for a price increase, saying 'we tend to see runups' ahead of these events. He expressed confidence in the passage of the Clarity Act, which would bring regulatory clarity to the crypto industry, and expects it to be signed into law within a month.

However, users of prediction market Myriad, owned by Decrypt's parent company Dastan, are less optimistic, giving the Clarity Act only a 17% chance of being signed into law in 2026. Armstrong downplayed the significance of this, saying that even if the act is not passed, the SEC and CFTC have already indicated their readiness to publish rulemaking and innovation exemptions under existing authority.
