Attacker Targets Fetch.ai, NuNet, and SingularityNET Infrastructure in Massive Token Exploit
A sophisticated attacker targeted infrastructure linked to Fetch.ai, NuNet, and SingularityNET, resulting in a 2.3 billion-token exploit that accumulated approximately $17 million in unrealized profits.
The attack involved the unauthorized creation of hundreds of millions of tokens across five assets, including FET, NTX, AGIX, WMTX, and CGV. According to Coin Bureau, citing blockchain security firm PeckShield, the attacker drained 8.7 million FET from Fetch.ai and minted or created large amounts of new tokens.
Blockchain intelligence firm Bitquery separately identified an initial movement of ETH and BNB from 16 wallets before the token activity began. The investigation remains focused on the compromised infrastructure and the movement of the resulting assets, with approximately $2.25 million in realized proceeds representing a much smaller amount than the estimated unrealized holdings.
