August Looms as Another Challenging Month for Bitcoin

The month of July brought some gains for Bitcoin, but August has historically not been kind to the largest cryptocurrency.

June was a painful month for $BTC, with it tumbling by 20.48% in 2026 compared to 37.28% in June 2022.

However, history was on Bitcoin's side as 9 out of the last 11 months were in the green, and July proved to be a better month than expected.

$BTC dipped below $58,000 on July 1 for the first time in nearly two years but quickly regained control and reclaimed the coveted $60,000 level within a day or two.

The asset peaked at $67,000 on July 21, its highest price tag in two months, but was rejected despite softer-than-expected inflation data for June and the Fed's refusal to hike interest rates last week.

$BTC ended the month at under $64,000, a 9% monthly increase.

The broader August perspective is still deeply negative, with only three out of the last 12 editions having been in the green. The war in the Middle East continues, inflation remains an issue, and Trump's actions tend to halt each breakout attempt in its tracks.
