Avalanche Anchors Kenyan Academic Records
Kenya's National Examinations Council (KNEC) has embarked on a groundbreaking project to anchor academic records on Avalanche's C-Chain blockchain. The initiative aims to provide instant verification of KCSE certificates, eliminating forgery and bureaucratic red tape.
The dataset includes exam results dating back to 1989, covering decades of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results. This means that older graduates can now verify their credentials for international employment, further education abroad, or professional licensing.
KNEC is targeting nearly one million candidates sitting the KCSE in 2025 as the first cohort to receive digital credentials through the new system. The secure e-portal was developed with Ava Labs, Avalanche's core development company, as the underlying technology provider.
