Avalanche-Backed KRW1 Expands Won Payments Globally with Rain Integration

Korea's won is gaining ground as a digital payment route thanks to KRW1, a stablecoin backed by Avalanche, which has integrated with Rain's global payments network.

This link between Korean currency and established card rails for international spending allows businesses and users to spend won abroad without converting funds beforehand.

KRW1 connects tokenized won with card payments across over 175 million Visa merchant outlets worldwide. The arrangement keeps transactions denominated in Korean won, while Rain provides the payment layer for card use across international payment and service channels.
