Avalanche Blockchain Paves Way in UAE's National Digital Identity System
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has integrated the Avalanche blockchain into its national digital ID system, UAE PASS. The integration is part of the country's efforts to build digital infrastructure that can be reused.
As of December 2025, over 11 million users have registered for UAE PASS, which connects to more than 15,000 services, including identity verification and document sharing.
The blockchain technology used in the system ensures the tamper-proof nature of documents stored on-chain through cryptographic hashes. This means that officials and recipients can confirm a document's authenticity without exposing personal information.
Avalanche's integration into UAE PASS is significant as it marks the network's involvement in infrastructure connected to a national digital ID system, rather than just providing a platform for tokens or DeFi apps.
