Avalanche Powers Upgrade of UAE National Identity Platform

Avalanche has secured a role in upgrading the UAEPASS Digital Vault's blockchain infrastructure. The vault is part of the UAE's national identity platform, serving over 12.5 million users who access more than 15,000 services from public and private entities.

The new system will use Avalanche as its underlying blockchain infrastructure, with Deca4 leading the implementation and Ava Labs providing technical support. The upgrade aims to improve the vault's capacity and performance in verifying documents without storing their contents directly onchain.

Ava Labs' John Nahas said digital identity systems must remain reliable while operating at real-world scale. He noted that the partnership shows how Avalanche can support systems people use in their daily lives, such as verifying the integrity of digital records inside the UAE's national identity platform.
