Avalanche Streamlines Execution with Streaming Asynchronous Execution
Avalanche's Streaming Asynchronous Execution (SAE) aims to boost performance by decoupling consensus from execution, allowing validators to finalize blocks at full speed while a separate executor handles transactions in a queue.
This approach keeps the consensus engine lean and pushes heavy lifting into a well-managed execution lane. The result is smoother pipelines and reduced head-of-line blocking, increasing sustainable throughput under bursty conditions.
SAE was rolled out on Fuji, Avalanche's public testnet, as part of the Helicon upgrade on July 28, 2026. This marks the first live dress rehearsal for how Avalanche might push through without loosening security guarantees.
