Avalanche Surges on Tokenization Momentum as NYSE Parent Company Eyes Blockchain Partnership
Avalanche (AVAX) has seen an impressive 11% surge in its price over the last 24 hours, driven by its central role in the regulated tokenization narrative and a broader alt-L1 rotation.
The New York Stock Exchange's parent company, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has been working with Avalanche to develop tokenization infrastructure. Ava Labs president Charley Cooper revealed that ICE spent roughly a year testing Avalanche's technology, and ICE Strategic Initiatives VP Michael Blaugrund stated that ICE is 'very engaged' with Avalanche.
This partnership is supported by the SEC's new 'Innovation Exemption,' which allows qualifying venues to trade fully-backed tokenized US stocks on public blockchains without registering as national exchanges for a five-year period. This rule enables 'Tokenized Securities Venues' with on-chain settlement, and ICE is evaluating Avalanche as a settlement layer.
The Avalanche Summit in New York amplified the impact of these developments, with Kevin O'Leary highlighting that the key 'watershed moment' for crypto will be when a major stock exchange formally adopts a blockchain. Reports also note that large non-US platforms such as Progmat in Japan and Hanwha Investment & Securities in Korea are building or migrating sizable tokenized-asset stacks onto Avalanche.
