$AVAX Breaks Above $11 as Helicon Upgrade and Whale Activity Fuel Rally
Avalanche's price has broken above $11 as traders react to the upcoming Helicon upgrade and increased on-chain exchange activity.
According to reported wallet movements, millions of dollars in $AVAX have been transferred across major exchanges. A whale also reportedly withdrew 16,000 $AVAX from Binance for deployment on the network.
The Helicon upgrade is scheduled for September 22, 2026, and will introduce changes to Avalanche's staking lock-up process. The current reporting indicates that the upgrade will reduce the lock-up period from 336 hours to 48 hours, providing delegators with greater flexibility around their staked $AVAX.
Avalanche is also expanding its institutional and real-world asset narrative, with recent coverage highlighting the launch of a tokenized high-yield corporate bond fund on Avalanche. However, it's essential to note that exchange movements can reflect market-making, internal wallet management, or selling preparation, rather than confirmed buying.
The breakout above $11 is supported by increased trading volume and an RSI above 80, signaling strong momentum but also elevated short-term pullback risk. A sustained move above $11 could expose $AVAX to the $12.00 resistance area and potentially even higher targets if buying pressure continues.
