AVAX Soars as Kenya's Blockchain-Based Academic Certificate Verification Platform Goes Live
The price of AVAX surged over 7% in a day after Kenya's National Examinations Council (KNEC) launched a blockchain-based academic certificate verification platform on Avalanche.
KNEC has digitized over 30 million historical examination records, dating back to 1989, and anchored them to the Avalanche network. The new system will issue digital certificates to nearly one million students each year, beginning with the 2025-2026 graduating classes.
Ava Labs developed the electronic certificate verification platform in partnership with KNEC, replacing slow paper-based authentication procedures with blockchain-backed digital verification.
The rollout addresses a longstanding problem of forged academic certificates. Once uploaded, every credential receives a cryptographic record that can be verified without altering the original data.
