Aviva Investors Launches Tokenized US Dollar Liquidity Fund on XRP Ledger
Aviva Investors, the asset management division of UK-based insurer Aviva, has launched a tokenized version of its U.S. dollar liquidity fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This move marks a significant step in the convergence of traditional institutional finance with blockchain-based asset management.
The development follows Aviva's partnership with Ripple, announced in February 2025, which aimed to explore tokenization for improving operational efficiency and investor access. By leveraging the XRP Ledger, Aviva aims to bring greater transparency, faster settlement, and enhanced liquidity management to its dollar-denominated money market fund.
The tokenized U.S. dollar liquidity fund is designed to provide institutional investors with a digital representation of traditional money market holdings. Each token represents a share in the underlying fund, allowing for near-instantaneous transfers and real-time visibility into fund positions.
This approach reduces reliance on legacy settlement systems and opens the door to 24/7 trading capabilities. Tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) has gained significant traction among major financial institutions seeking to modernize infrastructure.
