Aviva Investors, the asset management division of UK insurer Aviva, has launched a tokenized share class for its Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This move marks the company’s second fund to offer tokenized shares, following the expansion of its USD Liquidity Fund to the XRPL network in July. The Sterling Liquidity Fund, which manages approximately 22 billion British pounds ($29.4 billion) in assets, now allows investments in a tokenized format.
Aviva made a 50-million-pound investment in the new tokenized share class of the Sterling Liquidity Fund. This development is part of a broader collaboration between Aviva and Ripple, aimed at bringing more tokenized funds to the XRP Ledger. The asset manager now ranks among Europe’s largest providers of tokenized money market funds, with about 86 million pounds invested across its two tokenized share class offerings.
The XRP Ledger is the ninth-largest blockchain network for tokenized assets, holding $642 million in total distributed real-world asset value and about 2,900 unique holders, according to data from RWA.xyz.
