Aztec Labs Revives Privacy-Focused Wallet Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
Aztec Labs is relaunching zk.money, its privacy-focused Ethereum wallet that was shut down in 2023. The new version focuses on stablecoins from the start and uses DAI as its primary asset.
The wallet's design aims to keep the builder off the money-transmission hook while still offering anonymous payments. To achieve this, it has preventative measures built-in, including screening for sanctioned addresses and launch-phase limits of $2,500 per deposit, payment, or withdrawal.
Aztec Labs claims that its wallet contracts have no admin key, and users are responsible for managing their funds. The company also notes that the wallet is non-custodial and does not operate or profit from relayers.
