Aztec Labs Revives zk.money with Enhanced Privacy Features
Aztec Labs has relaunched zk.money, a self-custodial privacy wallet, on its Ethereum layer-2 network. The original version of the wallet shut down three years ago after drawing over 75,000 wallets and $100 million in volume.
The new version uses zero-knowledge proofs to ensure private transactions between users, while deposits from Ethereum remain public. Users can send USDC, USDT, or DAI stablecoins to readable tags, such as bob.zk.money, without revealing their balances or amounts.
Aztec Labs CEO Joe Andrews said that onchain transactions should not publish a user's financial history. The wallet is limited to $2,500 per transaction and has a daily deposit ceiling of $50,000 during the early rollout phase.
