Aztec Revives zk.money for Private Ethereum Transactions
Aztec Labs is reviving its zk.money wallet, a tool for private transactions on Ethereum. The relaunch comes three years after the original version was shut down to build the Aztec Network.
The new zk.money allows users to send and receive stablecoins without broadcasting balances, amounts, or recipients to the world. Users claim a tag such as bob.zk.money through the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), which resolves to a deposit address.
Aztec Labs CEO Joe Andrews said that 'onchain transactions between two individuals shouldn't mean publishing your financial history to the world.'
The wallet has limits, with deposits from Ethereum remaining public and payments made inside zk.money staying hidden. Transactions are limited to $2,500 each, and all users share a $50,000 daily deposit ceiling.
