Baby Doge Buys Legacy File-Sharing Brand Limewire
The meme coin project Baby Doge has acquired the peer-to-peer file-sharing brand Limewire. The news is an unexpected pairing of the two entities, with Baby Doge being a relatively new player in the crypto market and Limewire having a well-known history as a popular file-sharing service in the early 2000s.
The Zehetmayr brothers, who acquired Limewire in 2022, are handing over control to Abel Czupor and Baby Doge. According to the press release, the next chapter for Limewire is about taking its foundation to a larger audience and community.
Limorewire's future plans involve leveraging AI tools to enable creators to produce and distribute content directly to fans, bypassing labels entirely. Czupor envisions Limewire as a decentralized sanctuary where creators retain complete sovereignty over their data and intellectual property.
