Banks Partner with Crypto Exchanges to Bring Stablecoin Payments to Businesses

Share

Financial institutions and cryptocurrency companies are working together to make stablecoin payments more accessible to businesses. Citi, a major bank, has partnered with Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, to create a system that allows business clients to accept stablecoin payments without adding new infrastructure.

The system will automatically convert stablecoins to dollars for payment settlement, making the underlying technology invisible to the business. This approach simplifies adoption by eliminating the need for businesses to handle tokens or wallets.

Javelin Strategy & Research's Joel Hugentobler noted that most businesses don't want to manage digital assets; they just want to get paid. Turnkey stablecoin solutions like this one can make adoption more obtainable by reducing operational complexities.
