Banks Seek Last-Minute Changes to Clarity Act Stablecoin Provisions

Share

The American Bankers Association (ABA) is urging lawmakers to make final revisions to the Clarity Act, which aims to create federal rules for crypto markets in the United States.

Nichols emphasized that the banking lobby supports the Clarity Act but wants lawmakers to address stablecoin rewards and their potential impact on local lenders, which could reduce funds available for loans to households and small businesses. He stated that banks want to see changes in only two paragraphs of the bill.
