Barcelona Taps Blockchain with Barça Fan Lab Launch

Barcelona has ventured into Web3 by launching Barça Fan Lab, a digital fan platform built on the Cardano blockchain. This move is part of Cardano's community-driven grant programme, Project Catalyst Fund 13.

The platform connects to the existing BarçaID system and allows supporters to complete learning pathways and community activities to earn verifiable digital credentials and access tokens, stored in an individual Cardano portfolio.

Barcelona aims to create a scalable participation model for its global fanbase through this platform. The content is structured around four areas: the club's history and values, sustainability, inclusion, women's empowerment, and practical Web3 applications such as digital collectibles and loyalty systems.
