Barron Trump Accused of 'Brazen' Crypto Profits Amid Family Wealth
Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, has been accused of profiting from his family's cryptocurrency business. According to an estimate cited by The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board, Barron has made around $40 million from the venture.
The company in question is World Liberty Financial, which was launched in September 2024 by Trump along with his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. Barron was listed as its 'DeFi visionary' in early promotional materials.
Concerns about conflict of interest have been raised due to a firm tied to the United Arab Emirates investing $500 million for a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial just four days before Trump's inauguration, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. A few months later, the Emirati government reached an agreement with the administration to import advanced AI chips.
The editorial board noted that the Trump family has reportedly made $1 billion in pretax profits from crypto-related products and companies since Trump returned to the White House, as per the Financial Times. This is despite Trump's past claim that cryptocurrency is 'a scam.'
