Base Network Activates Cobalt Upgrade with Conditional Trading Features
The Base Network has activated its Cobalt upgrade, marking the third significant enhancement to the Ethereum layer-2 platform. This deployment introduces refined transaction management capabilities for traders alongside sophisticated asset administration features for token issuers.
At the heart of Cobalt lies Validity Transactions, a groundbreaking mechanism allowing users to queue transactions that remain dormant until specific blockchain conditions materialize. For instance, a trader can set up a token swap that executes exclusively when an asset reaches a predetermined price point within a specified timeframe.
The B20 Token Standard has also received major enhancements with the addition of Composite Policies. This capability empowers issuers to merge multiple allowlists and blocklists through Boolean logic operations, eliminating redundant list management and manual synchronization across different platforms.
