Base Network Surpasses 7.5 Million Daily Transactions
The Base network has achieved a significant milestone by processing over 7.5 million transactions in a single day, according to data validated on September 22.
This marks another scale milestone for Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystem, but the real question is what this activity says about user behavior on the network.
The high transaction count is largely due to cheap transactions that make it economical to record interactions on Base, such as social actions, wallet automation, and small trades. This type of activity may carry little individual dollar value, but it can indicate genuine adoption.
Base's growth has increasingly come from consumer-facing apps, smart wallets, and social or commerce products, alongside conventional DeFi applications. This broader application mix generates more transactions than a chain focused mainly on high-value financial settlement.
