Batch Amendment Activates on XRP Ledger as Institutional Use Remains Unclear
The Ripple XRP Ledger is on the verge of implementing the Batch amendment, which will allow for up to eight transactions to be processed together in a single operation.
The amendment has gained backing from 30 out of 35 validators and is set to activate on September 29 at 14:06 UTC if support holds. This technical upgrade aims to make the XRP Ledger more attractive as a settlement layer for tokenized-asset trades, but it does not require XRP for every bundled transaction.
Ripple has confirmed that asset managers and commercial projects are already testing Batch, but no specific companies or project details have been disclosed. This leaves uncertainty around whether named institutions will be ready to settle real volume on day one once the amendment goes live.
