BCH Surges Past $350 on CME Futures Announcement
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is experiencing a significant surge in price after CME Group announced plans to launch regulated BCH futures on October 19, subject to regulatory review. The exchange will offer standard contracts representing 250 BCH alongside Micro contracts covering 25 BCH.
The announcement immediately changed the market structure for BCH, with the token rising from around $270 to $328 within roughly 90 minutes before extending gains toward $340. By September 23, BCH had reached around $347-$355, with 24-hour gains approaching 30%.
CME already handles substantial crypto derivatives activity, with its cryptocurrency futures and options averaging 279,800 contracts per day worth $8.3 billion in notional value during the first half of 2026. The BCH listing gives professional traders a regulated instrument for hedging and directional exposure without requiring direct spot ownership.
A sustained move above $350 would keep the breakout structure intact and bring $430-$450 into focus, while clearing that region would expose the much larger $680-$720 resistance band near the previous cycle highs. The first major support is now $300-$310, with a successful retest turning the former ceiling into a potential demand zone.
