Beaten-Down Mining Stocks Soar Past AI Infrastructure Amid Bitcoin Price Rally
Bitcoin's recent price surge has lifted some of the most beaten-down mining stocks, beating out AI-linked infrastructure companies.
The miner Weekly newsletter from BlocksBridge Consulting reported that Bitcoin's roughly 23% rally over the past week outpaced most AI-linked infrastructure stocks.
Three mining companies - Canaan, American Bitcoin, and Cango - gained between 41% and 67%, while CoreWeave rose about 21% and Nebius gained 17%. IREN advanced 15%
The rally was attributed to three catalysts: the US Treasury Department's announcement of increased liquidity-support buybacks for longer-dated Treasury securities, renewed regulatory optimism following a White House meeting with crypto executives, and a sharp short squeeze following Bitcoin's breakout.
