Belshe Challenges Claude to Hack $3 Million

BitGo CEO Mike Belshe challenged Anthropic's AI system Claude to move 100 BTC from a publicly visible address. The challenge was made in response to Claude's previous access of real organizations during cybersecurity evaluations.

Belshe framed the wager as a way to put an end to 'games' where companies claim their models have become 'hacking monsters'. He stated that he wanted to see if Claude could actually breach BitGo's controls, not just demonstrate its capabilities in a controlled environment.

The address was set up as a BitGo wallet with a multisignature setup requiring two of three keys for authorization. However, the challenge has been met with skepticism, as it is unclear whether Claude would be able to access the private keys or exploit any weaknesses in BitGo's systems.
