Benjamin Cowen’s Bitcoin Bottom Prediction Hit on Price but Missed Timing
Benjamin Cowen, founder of Into the Cryptoverse, predicted in May 2026 that Bitcoin (BTC) would bottom around $60,000 in October. While he was correct about the price, the actual bottom occurred three months earlier on June 30, when Bitcoin hit $57,717 before surging 47% to $85,896 by October 6.
Cowen’s prediction was based on Bitcoin’s four-year cycle, influenced by the halving process. He tracked the days from one bear market low to the next peak, using data from just three past cycles. This limited historical basis raises questions about the reliability of his framework.
Despite the timing error, Cowen accurately identified the $60,000 support level. He also warned about a potential bear market following a quiet top, which proved accurate as Bitcoin fell around 30% over the past year. However, investors who waited for his October dip missed the rally from $58,555 to $85,896.
As of now, Cowen’s call cannot be considered entirely correct. The fourth quarter still has room for volatility, and if Bitcoin drops below $57,717 by December 31, his timing prediction could still hold. Otherwise, June 30 will remain the cycle’s bottom.
