Bernstein Sees $150K Bitcoin Price Target by Mid-2027 Amid Debts Soar
Financial firm Bernstein has updated its Bitcoin price forecast, now expecting the cryptocurrency to reach $150,000 by mid-2027. This bullish outlook is based on the rising government debt and currency debasement, which could strengthen demand for scarce assets even after BTC's sharp rebound.
The firm's base case sees Bitcoin returning to roughly $125,000 by the end of 2026 before climbing to $150,000 in the first half of 2027. Bernstein then expects a cycle peak near $300,000 in 2029.
Debt and currency debasement are seen as key factors driving up demand for Bitcoin. The US sovereign debt has reached roughly $40 trillion, while higher interest rates are increasing debt-servicing costs. Governments may eventually tolerate greater currency debasement rather than impose the fiscal tightening needed to stabilize debt burdens.
Bitcoin's capped supply and institutional access are also part of Bernstein's case for a price increase. Around 59% of Bitcoin supply has not moved during the past year, while spot ETFs and corporate treasuries have expanded the investor base.
