Billionaires Fund Right-Wing Parties Globally, Says Sanders

Senator Bernie Sanders has expressed concerns about the global influence of billionaires in politics. He pointed out that they are not just buying American politicians, but also funding right-wing parties worldwide.

In particular, he cited an example from the UK Reform Party, which received $97 million in donations from cryptocurrency billionaires Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne. This amount is reportedly the largest political donation in British history.

Delo, a billionaire investor, has been accused of operating a 'money laundering platform' through his involvement with BitMEX. He pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act in 2022 along with fellow co-founders Arthur Hayes and Samuel Reed.

Farage, the leader of the UK Reform Party, is currently facing an investigation over a private $6.65 million gift he received from Harborne in early 2024.
