Binance Adds Monitoring Tag to Four Tokens Amid Delisting Risk
Binance added its Monitoring Tag to four tokens on September 4: AVA (AVA), Gains Network (GNS), Scroll (SCR), and Towns Protocol (TOWNS). This label puts these assets under closer review, signaling a potential risk of delisting. According to Binance, tagged tokens are more volatile and riskier than the rest of its listings.
The team emphasized that 'Keep in mind that tokens with the Monitoring Tag are at risk of no longer meeting our listing criteria and being delisted from the platform.'
Binance weighs various factors during each review, including team commitment, development activity, trading volume, liquidity, network stability, and tokenomics changes. A history of previous reviews suggests that being tagged can indeed lead to delisting.
For example, Across Protocol (ACX), Hashflow (HFT), PIVX, Vulcan Forged PYR (PYR), Vanar (VANRY), and Viction (VIC) were all removed last month after receiving the Monitoring Tag earlier. The same pattern repeated when ICON (ICX), Secret (SCRT), and Storj (STORJ) were delisted on September 3, all of which had previously been tagged.
