Binance Adds Monitoring Tags to Five Tokens, Flags Potential Delisting
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has added monitoring tags to five tokens, warning investors of potential delisting. The affected assets are Moonbeam (GLMR), ICON (ICX), Moonriver (MOVR), SuperRare (RARE), and Sophon (SOPH). These tokens will display a separate risk disclaimer when traded on the Binance platform.
The monitoring tag is assigned to tokens that demonstrate significantly higher volatility and risk compared to other listed assets. Binance evaluates project development activity, liquidity, network stability, and team contributions when making these determinations. Tokens carrying this designation are subject to periodic review, and failure to meet listing maintenance standards could result in the termination of trading support.
The same day, Binance announced the delisting of seven spot trading pairs, including APT/BTC. Trading for these pairs will cease entirely at noon on August 14 (local time). However, the underlying tokens themselves will continue to be tradable through USDT, USDC, and other available trading pairs.
Binance's latest move is being interpreted as an extension of its ongoing efforts to tighten listing quality controls across the platform. As the global cryptocurrency market shows signs of recovery, exchanges are increasingly applying stricter listing maintenance standards to protect users and preserve market integrity.
