Binance App Removed from Google Play Amid EU Crypto Licensing Concerns

Binance's Android app has been removed from Google Play in certain EU countries due to questions about the exchange's compliance with the European Union's crypto licensing framework. The removal affects specific countries within the EU, rather than all markets.

A user in Spain confirmed that the Binance app is no longer available on Google Play searches. However, checks in Poland showed that the app remains accessible via the Oppo App Market used on Oppo devices. This indicates that not all EU markets are affected by this issue.

The removal of the Binance app from Google Play comes weeks after the company withdrew its application for a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license in Greece, just before the July 1 deadline. Some users have reported receiving notifications from Binance about restricted access to certain services while withdrawal operations will remain open.

Erald Ghoos, CEO of rival exchange OKX Europe, suggested on social media that the removal of the Binance app was due to MiCA licensing requirements.
