Binance Backs Circle's USDC Ambitions with $100M Investment
Circle and Binance have expanded their strategic partnership with a new five-year commercial agreement and $100 million equity investment. The deal, announced on September 22, 2026, combines the two moves to strengthen the financial and operational bond between the world's largest crypto exchange and its dollar-stablecoin issuer.
The agreement replaces earlier commercial arrangements from November 2024 and August 2025. Under the new terms, Binance will promote USDC, increase awareness of it, and integrate it across its platform. Circle, in turn, will pay Binance a monthly incentive fee tied to qualifying USDC balances held through Circle's Modular Smart Contract Wallet infrastructure.
The partnership aims to expand dollar access globally, particularly in emerging markets where local currencies are volatile and dollar access is limited. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire stated that the partnership would deliver 'a stable, trusted digital dollar' available to anyone with a phone.
