Binance Backs Terra Upgrade as LUNA Surges
LUNA surged nearly 15% in 24 hours, adding to its weekly gain of almost 30%. The Terra v2.21.0 network upgrade scheduled for September 21 received support from Binance.
The exchange confirmed it will handle the technical requirements for users holding Terra-based assets on the platform. Deposits and withdrawals on the Terra network were paused temporarily, while trading remained open.
Terra futures open interest rose sharply, with a nearly 90% increase to about $5.10 million on Binance. Crypto Anu, a trader, noted that this was a familiar upgrade-driven volatility pattern.
