Binance Blocks 16 Crypto Platforms Amid EU Russia Sanctions
Binance has announced that it will restrict transactions with 16 crypto platforms in response to European Union sanctions targeting Russia. The list includes HTX, formerly known as Huobi, which is already partially restricted and will face further restrictions on August 23.
The exchange blocked Shelbit and Aban Tether on August 7, followed by A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa, and PilotFinance on August 13. The next round will cover Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, Exnode, Exnode Pay, HTX, and EXMO.
The restrictions come as regulators increase pressure on crypto platforms that could help Russia bypass international sanctions. The EU included HTX and other crypto services in its latest Russia sanctions package, accusing them of helping frustrate measures imposed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Binance said the restrictions are part of its compliance efforts and urged users to complete affected transfers before the relevant deadlines. Transfers involving the listed platforms could face additional checks or be blocked.
