Binance Blocks 16 Crypto Platforms Amid EU Russia Sanctions
Binance has announced that it will restrict transactions with 16 crypto platforms as new European Union sanctions targeting Russia tighten controls on digital-asset transfers.
The list includes HTX, formerly known as Huobi, which was already subject to some restrictions. Other platforms affected by the block include Shelbit and Aban Tether, which were restricted on August 7, and A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa, and PilotFinance, which had restrictions imposed on August 13.
The next round of restrictions will cover Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOneCrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, Exnode, Exnode Pay, HTX, and EXMO, starting from August 23.
These restrictions come as regulators increase pressure on crypto platforms that could help Russia bypass international sanctions. The EU included HTX and other crypto services in its latest Russia sanctions package, accusing them of helping frustrate measures imposed after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
