Binance Brings Crypto Payments to Millions of Japanese Merchants

Binance has launched its Binance Pay service in Japan, allowing eligible overseas visitors to pay at participating merchants using more than 100 supported cryptocurrencies.

The service is available at millions of locations across Japan, including large chains, small shops, taxis, public transport, and vending machines. Merchants do not need to opt-in separately, but can disable HIVEX payments through PayPay for Business settings if desired.

Eligible users can scan a merchant's PayPay QR code in the Binance app or display a payment code for the merchant to scan. However, it is unclear what fees are associated with using this service, as no user or merchant fee schedule was published.
