Binance Data Obtained in Mir Raza Murder Investigation
The investigation into the murder of Mir Raza, a young entrepreneur whose body was found in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, has taken a new turn with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) obtaining six months' worth of Binance and cryptocurrency-related data.
The data, which includes details of transactions carried out each day over the six-month period, was provided to the investigation committee in several pages. Police have asked the NCCIA to analyze the data and decode the Binance records into a simpler format to facilitate the investigation.
Mir Raza's family had been seeking the formation of a joint investigation team (JIT) for a transparent probe into his murder, but their request was turned down by the Sindh High Court. A judicial commission was subsequently tasked with evaluating the merit of the probe.
