Binance Deal Boosts USDC's Emerging Market Reach
Circle has strengthened its partnership with Binance through an expanded deal that could give $USDC more traction in emerging markets and global trading, analysts said.
The investment firm's stake in Circle will increase to $100 million after the two companies signed a new five-year commercial agreement. The arrangement gives Binance a direct stake in Circle's growth while expanding Circle's reach through one of the world's largest crypto exchanges.
'This optimizes the relationship and further aligns Binance's interests with Circle's, echoing Circle-Coinbase's distributor-shareholder model,' Clear Street analyst Owen Lau said.
Binance has become a significant $USDC venue since its first partnership with Circle in December 2024. The exchange now offers 329 $USDC-quoted spot markets compared to only 140 when the partnership began.
